Thanks to HED and the partnership between the International Academy of Business (IAB) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan (WDI), the Marketing Education and Research Center (MERC) conducted a needs survey of 150 businesses. Students participated in training sessions at a marketing research agency, developed questionnaires, and met weekly to discuss the progress with MERC's executive director. “University of Lagos MBA Students”
Submitted by: Ike Ehie and Myra Gordon
This picture shows the volume of MBA students at the University of Lagos taking an examination in just one of their classes. We took this picture because it shows just how many of them are females and just how hard-working and deserving they are. These students are the direct beneficiaries of the curriculum enhancement work being funded by HED/USAID. The upgraded curriculum being developed places increased emphasis on international standards, technology competence, and corporate social responsibility. Students trained in the new curriculum will bring world-class skills to the Nigerian business sector, they will know the effectiveness and capabilities of technology and they will be well-versed in ethics, sustainability, and equal employment opportunity. Class after class of these graduates will eventually be able to transform Nigerian businesses and make them not only more competitive and profitable, but also more transparent and honest.
