The Development Specialists Program is open to qualified U.S. scholars and professionals in fields that support USAID’s priority development sectors. Applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, and/or physical impairment.
Applicants should meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident at time of application
- A Ph.D. or equivalent professional terminal degree at the time of application
- Faculty or staff member at a regionally accredited, degree-granting, U.S. higher education institution
- Professional experience in international development in the sector selected as the primary sector
Employees of USAID or public and private organizations under contract to USAID, and their spouses or dependent children, are ineligible for one year following the employee’s termination.
Some positions may require a USG security clearance.
