Hands-on Teaching to Reduce Health Hazards
An HED cooperative program aids the environment in Uganda.
HED’s primary activity is funding innovative, university-based partnerships that target development challenges in nations across the developing world.

Each partnership links colleges or universities in the U.S. with institutions of higher learning in developing nations. Applicants compete for HED grant funding through a rigorous, peer-reviewed RFA process. Once awards are made, partners design and implement programs that have significant, long-term impact on a region’s economic and social well-being.

All partnerships support USAID’s strategic goals. Search the partnership database to find out more about HED partnerships. You may also browse our success stories.
