This partnership will train Mexican graduate students and faculty to be extension educators and to conduct applied research, both at university facilities and on growers’ farms. The partnership also supports short-term exchanges between faculties to improve delivery of the latest use of plasticulture technology to small farmers through extension activities. This low-cost technology can help small farmers transition from maize production to higher value small fruit and vegetable crops.
