This collaboration enhanced the capacity of Universidad Autónoma de Chapingo (UAC) to provide training and continuing education in areas relevant to agriculture, especially the use of reclaimed water for irrigation, biosystems engineering, and agricultural machine design. The partners conducted four short courses in Mexico and Arizona, training more than 200 individuals throughout Mexico in irrigation systems, bioprocessing engineering, and greenhouse engineering. Four Mexican students completed Master of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering degrees at the University of Arizona (UA) under the auspices of the TIES program. These students conducted research linking to industries and agencies such as Tequilaria Herradura and the Mexican Institute for Water Technology.
