This partnership will establish a Master’s of Infectious Disease degree at the Universidad de Tamaulipas. This graduate program will employ a comprehensive approach to prevention, diagnosis, and control of tuberculosis (TB) and strengthen Mexico’s public health infrastructure. The program will provide focused community-based resources to the fight against infectious diseases, with TB as the priority target. A binational curriculum team will partner with key TB experts within the state and nation and will develop a seamless, common methodology of research and evidence-based clinical practice across all professions currently working with TB at-risk populations. The partners will coordinate closely with the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias to ensure that a common research agenda is applied that will strengthen Mexico’s capacity to prevent, diagnose, and control TB.
