The partnership between Southwestern and Tecnológico are preparing a new generation of lawyers to practice law in settings involving oral advocacy and adversarial systems of justice and encourage skills-based legal education and comparative perspectives. The partners are offering (1) intensive skills training in the US for seven Mexican law graduates; (2) oral advocacy training for attorneys in Nuevo León, Chihuahua and Tamaulpas; (3) an interscholastic trial advocacy program with an annual competition between student teams from different law schools; and (4) comparative law lectures and interchanges including special lectures, panels and short courses in the US and Mexico with particular focus on criminal procedure reform and skills training.
