The partners are working together to create the SABEMOS (Science/Literacy Across Borders for Educators in Mexico to Promote Outstanding Schools) program. UTEP College of Education professors will be working with professors from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey to help train elementary teachers in remote and indigenous areas of Chihuahua. Their goal is to improve science-literacy education and help educate as many as 6,000 children in the use of technology. Twelve Mexican teachers will be selected this summer to go through a master’s program with courses taught by UTEP and Tech de Monterrey professors
