To address the issue of biodiversity and economic growth, these two institutions are working collaboratively on a research-action project to address soil restoration, reforestation among other areas. The partners will include strengthening an intensive two-week course on natural resource management, development of a diplomado on forest economics, forest soil restoration and the community forest management institutions.
Research fellowships offered by Centro de Investigaciones Interdisiplinaros para el Desarrollo Integral Regional, and an experimental community nursery as a conservation effort are also among the goals of this partnership.
