These partners are collaborating to train professionals for the aerospace industry, specifically in global logistics and productivity improvement, via a dual master’s degree program. Seven Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) students completed their first semester of studies in industrial engineering at Arizona State (ASU), and recruitment is underway of the first cohort of ASU students to go to ITESM. The partnership developed relationships with local industries and organized an industry seminar for Boeing and Honeywell Aerospace in February 2005 to foster further relationships between the master’s program and industry interests. Through this collaboration, the North American aerospace industry will become more competitive, interacting more closely with supply chain partners, receiving solutions to engineering problems, and being supplied with talented, skilled employees.
