Carol Robles is Program Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean. She has worked in the field of international educational exchange and development within a Latin American context for nearly two decades. Before coming to HED, she served as a senior program officer at the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, where she managed Fulbright Senior Scholar exchanges for some 23 countries comprising the Western Hemisphere portfolio, under the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of State.  

 

As a program officer at the Academy for Educational Development and prior to that, as a placement coordinator at the National Association of Partners of the Americas, she managed and implemented scholarship and human capacity development projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, with a primary focus on Central America. Ms. Robles earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Latin American Studies and Spanish from the Pennsylvania State University. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
