Lynn Simmonds is HED’s communications associate responsible for outreach activities such as content development, maintenance of HED’s website, public relations, and marketing.

Ms. Simmonds has four years of communications experience in copy editing and web production for 1105 Media Group, an integrated business-to-business information agency focused on technology, products, policy, regulation, and news. She also worked as a copy editor and page designer for The Charlotte Sun in Florida.

Ms. Simmonds holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University and is completing a master’s degree in public administration with an international management concentration from American University. She has traveled throughout West Africa and served as a girls’ education and empowerment agent with Peace Corps in Togo.
