Brooks Marmon is a Program Specialist at Higher Education for Development. In this capacity, Marmon supports the Director of Programs and helps to coordinate the activities of HED’s Programs unit. Marmon comes to HED from the American Political Science Association, where he worked closely with an overseas workshop series for African scholars funded by the Andrew Mellon Foundation. He also played an active role in the Association’s advocacy efforts to maintain funding for programs that support international social science research. 

Marmon served with the Peace Corps in Niger and has additional experience working with organizations based in Liberia, Ghana, and Namibia as well as the Africa Program of the Wilson Center. Marmon holds a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in History from Clark University with concentrations in political science and international development. He speaks Hausa and basic French.
