HED Active Partnerships (FY2012)
Higher Education for Development (HED) mobilizes the expertise and resources of the higher education community to address global development challenges by facilitating and managing higher education partnerships. In fiscal year 2012, HED managed a total of 70 active partnerships in 37 countries. View where HED partnerships worked in FY2012.
About HED Partnerships
HED's innovative, higher education-based partnerships target development challenges worldwide.
Each partnership links a higher education institution in the United States with another institution in a host country. In support of USAID's development goals, partners work together to address a wide range of challenges—from public health to entrepreneurship training, and beyond. Funding for HED partnerships comes from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), USAID Missions and the U.S. Department of State.
What sets HED partnerships apart is the focus on sustained impact—building educational and human capacity in a way that sets the stage for ongoing improvement.

HED ICAA II Program Fact Sheet (2013)
In support of progress already made under the Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA), HED is managing the ICAA II Higher Education Partnership Program (HEPP) to further engage local higher education institutions and organizations in promoting biodiversity conservation and maintenance of the Andean Amazon Biome.
