Enhancing teacher training in Ghana was the end goal of the partnership among the University of South Florida, University of Cape Coast, University College of Education of Winneba. Through this partnership, the universities also strengthened institutional capacity and curriculum development.

The partners enhanced testing and “continuous assessment” expertise within the Ghana Education Service/Curriculum Research and Development Division (GES/CRDD). It established the University of Cape Coast and the University College of Education of Winneba as the primary institutional resources for the Curriculum Research and Development Division.

The partners also prepared a proposal to revise and improve Ghana’s continuous assessment system for public schools—grades one through nine. The Ghana Education Service endorsed the proposal and recommended its practical application.
