The partnership between Northern Kentucky University and the United Arab Emirates University, with the cooperation of Yale University, Saint Joseph College, and Sultan Qaboos University improved the training of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers by developing a service learning curriculum for English teachers in training that links EFL teaching to community needs.

Participants wrote and published Learning English through Service: a Curriculum Guide for Using Service Learning to Teach English, a resource to be distributed in UAE and other Arab countries.
