USAID/Mexico Mission Director, Rodger Garner, spoke at the opening of the TIES conference. He was joined by panelists: Molly Broad, American Council on Education president, Dr. Victor Arredondo, Secretary of Education State of Veracruz, and Dr. Raúl Arias Lovillo, Rector at Universidad Veracruzana.

A Glimpse of Conference Events and Presentations

At the opening session of the conference, USAID/Mexico Mission Director Rodger Garner announced five newly awarded TIES partnerships in biodiversity conservation and renewable energy.

Dr. Jane Gore, Director of Reporting and Assessment at HED, provided an overview of results achieved by TIES partnerships and illustrated how sustainable partnerships address local, state and national development challenges.
